Species Name: Taiwanese Beauty Snake, Rat Beauty Snake
laphe taeniura
Average Adult Size: 5-7 feet.
Diet: Small mammals and birds.
Habitat: Taiwan and Burma
Shot: Taken at the Oregon State Fair
Comments: This species of rat snake is very at home in the trees. They have exceptionally long, thin bodies which change in pattern from head to tail three times. They can be aggressive, but are non-venomous. They're very popular as pets since they do not stress as easily as other arboreal snakes.
